Local coaches who know a thing or two about German football have indicated that the prospective Bayern Munich academy coming to Rwanda is a smart move that can have an influence on the game in the nation.

The academy is part of the German football club’s new cooperation with Rwanda.

In an interview with The New Times, Innocent Seninga, a Rwandan coach who studied at Germany’s Leipzig University, stated that Germans enjoy football that is strong, fast, and technical.

Seninga possesses a DFB (German Football Association) A License as well as a Postgraduate Diploma of Specialist Football Trainers from Germany. He has also completed an internship in European football at the U15 and U17 levels.

He claims that German football instructors provide training on how a kid might progress through several phases before becoming a professional player, supplying them with information appropriate to their age group.

“The academy will be critical in assisting Rwandan youth to develop into good players in the future.” This can help the country’s national team and clubs,” he said.

Former national football team coach Jimmy Mulisa, who is also a German-trained strategist, told The New Times about the benefits that German football can provide to Rwandans in terms of sports discipline, statistical analysis in football, and effective tactics.

“There are a lot of things that can change in our game if we can learn from their professional discipline.” They understand how to prepare athletes for fitness and discipline,” he remarked.

Female football coach Grace Nyinawumuntu, who completed a 9-month professional internship with German team Tuss Koblenz, stressed the need of developing excellent technical skills at an early age.

“They prioritize dribbling, passing, ball control, and shooting as fundamental skills that players need to excel in,” she added, adding that they stress the significance of knowing and interpreting the game.

“Young players are taught not only how to perform skills, but also how to understand and read the game tactically.” “German coaches emphasize positional play, team organization, and the importance of making effective decisions on the field,” she explained.

“German teams place a premium on strong defensive organization, quick transitions from defense to offense, and efficient ball circulation.”

Nyinawumuntu believes the Bayern Munich academy can help Rwandan kids achieve their dreams of playing at the highest level.

“Our children will benefit from the experience of learning under German football instructors in terms of technical skills, tactical understanding, work ethic, and mental resilience.” “These lessons will not only help them grow as football players, but they will also prepare them for success on and off the field,” she added.
