On Wednesday, August 30, the Rwanda National Police (RNP) announced the appointment of Assistant Commissioner of Police Boniface Rutikanga to the position of Commissioner for Public Relations and Media.
He replaces John Bosco Kabera, the commissioner of police, who has held the job since October 2018, and he also effectively assumes the role of police spokesperson.
As of right present, Kabera is the ISPSP Commissioner for Infrastructure Security and Private Security Providers.
Rutikanga previously held the position of Commissioner for Peace Support Operations.
He had been the Rwanda National Police’s deputy spokesperson prior to that.
