On Friday, August 18, President Paul Kagame met with Nigerian music phenomenon David Adedeji Adeleke, often known as Davido, in Urugwiro Village.
Davido will perform at the Giants of Africa Festival Closing Concert on Saturday, August 19, at BK Arena in Rwanda.
Davido is making his third appearance in Rwanda, following the 30 Billion Concert in 2019 and the Liberation Concert in 2014.
The highly anticipated Giants of Africa closing celebration, funded by Spotify, will include performances by Tiwa Savage from Nigeria, Tyla from South Africa, and Bruce Melodie from Rwanda, in addition to Davido.
Davido came in Kigali on Thursday, August 17, and has been actively engaging with young campers at the Kigali Arena as part of the Giants of Africa Festival. He was spotted cheering on competitors during games and engaging in other activities with them.
Davido is slated to appear at two pre-festival events in addition to his major performance at the closing ceremony. One will take place at Shooters Lounge, and the other at La Noche.
Davido has had a long and successful career, with four studio albums, an extended play, and several hit singles.
He has received many MTV Awards, a BET Award, Soul Train Awards, The Headies, and other honors.
